I want to thank all those in CityLight Church that are fulfilling the call of God upon their lives to be a servant to God and His kingdom purposes (1 Kings 15:5 - KJV) Solomon purposed to build a house for the Lord. Ezra built a platform for the purpose of teaching Israel about the book of the Law (Neh 8:4). There is a time for every purpose and for every work (Ecc 3:17). Jesus appeared to Saul (later Paul) for a purpose (read Acts 26:16-18) and the greatest of course was the life of Jesus. I John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
For the church it is the eternal purpose of God to make known to principalities and powers the manifold wisdom of God which is found in Jesus Christ (Eph 3:8-11) in that all of us have a purpose in the life that God has given us - freely we have received, freely give with our total being - spirit, soul and body.
To serve Him with our whole being in thankfulness for what He has rescued as from - eternal separation and hell, to eternal fellowship with Him in His presence in heaven. The contrast can’t be more stark than that. What is your purpose, and what is your function as a member of His house and His family?  Seek God for His purpose if you don’t know what it is.
With love, Bernie
