How things continue to change! Now we see our government suggesting we change the laws of marriage being between a man and woman (it can’t be any other way according to the Bible) to making it say between two adults!
Earthquakes, wars and rumours of wars. Matthew devotes a whole chapter in his book (Matt 24) telling us all the things that will take place, which when you combine them all would make one wonder if anybody can endure all the things written about? Jesus Himself says but for the elect’s sake these days will be shortened. Another verse tells us he/she who endures to the end will be saved.
We all know that enduring means to be found busy till He comes, not sitting or cowering in abject fear until He snatches you out. Rather we are to be declaring the good news as to what Jesus came to do when He entered the world bringing glory to God in the highest and on earth peace and good will to all men. Remember, He is the Prince of peace!
Luke 5:18,19 reaffirms this, that the gospel is Good News. He brought it and in Matt 28:18-20, He sends us out with authority and tells us to go and make disciples. It is in the doing that we are His servants, not in the knowing.

Luke 2:13-14 says “13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14‘Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!’ ”
Here we are racing towards Christmas and we are the ones who know the reason for the season. For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son into the World to die for the sins of the world.
Even as I write these words, do we meditate on the love and the cost that was both given (love) cost (His life) so that we might have life and that in all its fullness.
What amazing love and what an amazing legacy that was left for the world to embrace and sadly, how few do receive the gift that is being held out to the hurting and wounded and lonely people of the world.
How can we bridge the gap? Let all of us on purpose do something over the coming weeks that will cause people to see Jesus with skin on. As you have done it to the least of these My brethren, you have done it to Me (Matt 25:31-46). Especially at this time as we remember what Jesus Christ has done for us, can we reflect that love and do something for those who that maybe don’t know that love. Let the verses of Luke 2:13-14 resonate in our hearts and minds this season.
With much love, Bernie
As I am reading through Acts again, I can’t help but notice how much all were involved in getting the message out that Jesus was alive again after being crucified, dead and buried. After three days He rose from the dead and presented Himself to the women at the tomb, the two on the road to Emmaus, to the disciples in a locked room and at breakfast by the sea when He tells them to cast the net on the right side of the boat to get a great catch, eating food with them, seen by Peter and then the twelve, then by 500 brethren after that by James and also last of all, Paul (1 Cor 15:4-8).
There was no doubt both then and now that Jesus rose from the dead and He being the first fruit, we would experience that kind of resurrection also. No wonder the disciples were excited in telling the Gospel story and that Jesus would not only save you through His death and resurrection but that eternal life was promised to all who believe in His name.
No wonder that Paul glorified in the cross of Christ (1 Cor 1:18-31; 2:1-5) because it is the power of God unto salvation.
The great thing we see in the book
of Acts is that they did things together. Community was foundational to bringing the good news to a dying world.
Let all of us be involved again as they were in the book of Acts and I believe we will see the same results again as well.
With much love,
Bernie
